We should be a harbor of safety for people in the midst of the shark infested waters of this perilous generation.
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:5
Some would tell us that since the last days began in Acts 2 at Pentecost this verse must speak of all generations since then. But notice Paul is in the “last days” when he writes this passage to Timothy. Paul is speaking of a future and final generation in the last days. The character of people is summed up in one word “SELFISHNESS”. They are a people who are lovers of themselves which then causes their spiral downward expressed in these horribly dark tendencies. The worst of all is that they love themselves more than our Creator and Savior though they have a wolf in sheep’s clothing false appearance of Him. They deny the power of the true and living God which is the gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16).
It is painfully obvious with the signs of famine, floods, earthquakes in various places, pestilences, wars, and the specifically Biblically prophesied nations coming against the physically re-established nation of Israel that this perilous generation is upon us!
The best thing to do is make sure of two things: One is that we are not in this category of apostasy, and the second, with the exception of sharing the gospel with them and being a witness to our Lord Jesus, is to stay away from folks who are! What I mean is do not have “unequally yoked” ties with them.
Today is a day to be the opposite of these perilous people. Be lovers of our Lord Jesus and other people more than yourself. Be generous, boasting on Jesus and those He sends to help you for any accomplishments in your life. Let’s be humble, with our speech honoring our Abba Father and a reverence toward our parents or the memory of those who are passed. In Africa, where I often preach the gospel, they are often thankful for the little they have while we seem to have lost the gratefulness to the Lord for having food, clothing, and a warm bed at night. We should be holy reflections of Messiah Jesus, loving the closest among us in our own homes, keeping our word, and looking at our own sins before those of others. Gentleness and kindness should be our testimony along with loyalty, lowliness, lovers of the Lord and His people. Our godliness should emanate from the firm foundation of faith in our crucified and risen Savior. We should be a harbor of safety for people in the midst of the shark infested waters of this perilous generation.
I pray these things become the reality of our testimony so that we will not be ashamed when King Jesus returns for us: And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. 1 John 2:28
Glory to the Name of Jesus our King who is coming soon!
Philippians 2:17 “Yea, and if I be offered (poured out) upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.”
Today it may seem that Islam will win. There is a tidal wave of momentum especially in Europe which some now call Eurabia. The feeling sweeping much of the globe is that Israel needs to give Jerusalem away to the Muslims which of course would in effect destroy Israel. Israel isn’t Israel without Jerusalem. This is simply a ruse to succeed where Pharaoh, Haman, Hitler, Arafat and others have failed— to destroy the Jews! The Muslim led countries think they are playing the nations of the world like a violin. The UN led by Europe, Russia, China, and the USA are increasingly in lockstep with Islam. There was a man mentioned a moment ago named Haman in the Persian Kingdom led by King Ahasuerus (Ah kash fair oos). This book of Esther story is usually told during the feast of Purim in the late winter/ early spring, but it is timely–right now.
Haman was riding a wave of seemingly unbridled success in Persia. The King promoted him to great power and notoriety. Every new day brought more recognition and power to Haman. He parleyed this success to do something that Amalekites like Haman historically loved to do—kill the Jews. His hatred for the Jews along with his pride and arrogance kept him in the dark about a few critical items of interest:
To come against the Jews is to come against the Holy One Of Israel!
The Persian King’s wife was a Jew!
Mordechai, the Jew that Haman hated the most and even built a gallows on which to hang him, was the beloved cousin and counselor to the Persian King’s Jewish wife!
Today there is a powerful man in Persia (Iran) who has long reaching tentacles called Hamas, HIzbullah, and others, that stretch to Israel’s borders along with the other nations of the world attempting to destroy Israel. Today all these nations and evil leaders ride a wave of seemingly unbridled power and unstoppable designs to destroy the nation of Israel and, make no mistake about it, then the Jews all over the world! Mr. Haman’s wave came crashing down on the shore or like a rat trap the LORD snapped the metal bar down on his head when Haman could not resist the bait. You see, the Jews became the cheese in the rat trap for Haman: Esther 8: 7 “Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.”
Haman built the gallows for Mordechai, but who went to the gallows? Haman and his ten sons were the gallow’s victims. Like then, it is a hazardous thing today for the nations to lay their hands on the Jews, the land of Israel, and the center of the world–Jerusalem.
For many years the nations have used Islam to destroy the Jews and now Islam is spreading around the world destroying the nations including America!
It may look like the nations will force Israel to give away Jerusalem, but always remember this: Jerusalem is the cheese in the rat trap!
